Perceived Personability

In the first Hunger Games movie on the way to the Capital, Haymitch tells Katniss that the secret to surviving The Games is to get people to like you. More important than food or shelter is the ability to influence people.

Perceived personability is equal to the power of personal presentation! Personal presentation is a learned skill and includes how you stand, how you walk, how you have a connection, and how you connect with people. These personal presentation skills are the dimensions that will increase the power of your presentation.

This does not mean that you must change you personality. A person can still be a quiet person and influence others with their personal presentation.

One key to increase your personal presentation is just simply to ask good questions of other people. This engages the other person and gives the perception that the conversation is all about them – just what people want. This will help you find out what is the most important. Then, when you do speak, you can speak with purpose and passion, confidence and conviction.

Personal power is not an external force, but rather, it is an internal confidence regardless of the situation and circumstances. With a little practice and getting out of your comfort zone, you can present yourself in a powerful way and increase your perceived personability.
